Hosted by Dr Erica Hwin
With job hunting season just around the corner, we’re teaming up with Nauv Kashyap to cover the top most commonly asked questions students and new grads have when it comes to finding the right job.
Even as times change, the challenges we face as new grads are evergreen. In this episode, we’re talking about the differences between dentist-owned practices vs big corporate organisations, rural vs metro considerations, how to excel as an associate, red flags to look out for in contracts and what to do when a job isn’t what it was promised to be.
Nauv is a huge advocate for new grads, and is passionate about standing up for them and ensuring they are being treated fairly within their workplaces. There is so much to unpack in this episode and we’re really lucky to have Nauv’s insight on the topic.
Dr Nauvneel Kashyap
Dr Nauvneel Kashyap is an instantly recognisable name in the dental world. He is the founder of Practice Ownership Consulting, Australia’s first dedicated consulting business to help employee/associate dentists explore practice ownership opportunities. Nauv is the spearhead of practice ownership and development education within Australia. He has also brought to the forefront the importance of ethical workplaces and is the first practitioner to advocate for dentists when they cannot do it for themselves.
For those who have been listening for a while and have followed along with David’s journey, you may be aware of baby Asher’s passing this time two years ago. To uphold our yearly tradition, we’re dedicating our August Giving Project to continue supporting the Humpty Dumpty Foundation to support neonatal care services and supply equipment to underfunded hospitals.
To date, the community has raised over $29,000, and on behalf of Dental Head Start, we’ll be donating an additional $1000. If you’d like to contribute in any way, you can visit the donation page in our show notes.
Fly high baby Asher! You are helping make a world of difference.
