Dr Harry Marget is one of the most generous dental educators out there. He makes a point of making time for those struggling and has often replied to distressed forum posts simply with “Call me” and his phone number.

But Harry is not simply a shoulder to cry on or lending an ear. Harry has over 45 years of experience, runs a very large and very successful single location 17+ dentist dental practice and is an educator in dental practice management and business.

His generosity and wisdom is clearly on show in this wide ranging discussion packed with interesting stories and useful advice. Harry is a genuine caring person who was a pleasure to chat with. He even messaged me a few days later, as a fire raged in the area I live, which he only knew because he asked, to see if my family was OK. What a gentleman. Enjoy and if you ever need advice, Harry is there for you.

In this chat we cover:

  • Why he spends so much time helping people
  • His perspectives on depression and suicide in today’s society in relation to dentists and his thoughts on dealing with this critical issue
  • How Harry dealt with the initial lack of support and stress in his very early career
  • How Harry found himself with a practice full of patients who didn’t expect to pay
  • Harry’s early mentors and the influence they had on him
  • The reality of business failures and tips for avoiding these
  • What is the story behind “Dr Call Me”and what he does for others
  • What he believes to be the issues with the younger graduates today.
